Elderflower cocktails

Elder Gin Fizz

1 1/2 oz. gin
1 oz. elderflower syrup
2 oz. grapefruit juice
3 oz. soda water

Combine gin, syrup, and grapefruit juice over ice in a large glass. Top with soda, mix and enjoy.

 

Hugo

8-10 mint leaves
large wedge (1/4) of lime
1 1/2 oz. elderflower syrup
5 oz. prosecco (very cold)
3 oz. soda water (very cold)

Muddle the mint and lime with the syrup in a pint glass or shaker.  Transfer to a large, chilled wine glass for serving. Add prosecco and soda water and mix gently.

 

Elderflower Julep

4-6 mint leaves
1 1/2 oz. elderflower syrup
2 oz. bourbon
soda water (optional)

In a rocks glass, muddle the mint with the syrup.  Fill 3/4 of the glass with crushed ice. Add bourbon and top with soda water if desired.  Stir gently and serve.

 

Elderflower Mojito

4 to 6 mint leaves
1 oz. elderflower syrup
1/2 oz. lime juice
1 1/2 oz. light rum
4 oz. soda water

Muddle the mint with the syrup in a large glass.  Add ice, lime juice and rum.  Top with soda, mix gently and serve, garnished with lime and fresh mint if desired.

 

Elderflower Lemon Drop

1 1/2 oz. lemon vodka
3/4 oz. Grand Marnier
1 1/2 oz. elderflower syrup
1 oz. lemon juice
3 oz. soda water

Combine all but soda water over ice in a large glass.  Top with soda, mix gently and serve.

 

Sophisticate

1.5 oz. vodka
1 oz. elderflower syrup
1 oz. lime juice
1 oz. cranberry juice

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until very cold. Strain into a cocktail glass and serve, garnished with a thin wheel of lime.
